The 2016 critically acclaimed horror movie, "Don't Breathe" will have its sequel. Ghost House Pictures confirmed through its director in an interview.
The production studio Ghost House Pictures, director Fede Alvarez told Coming Soon that he is now working on "Don't Breathe" sequel. This confirmation was brought up by co-writer Rodo Sayagues ("Evil Dead"). During the interview, Alvarez was talking about his another one of his upcoming films, "The Girl in the Spider's Web." Although "Don't Breathe" director mentioned "The Girl in the Spider's Web," the flick hasn't been confirmed by the studio. "But there will be more Don't Breathe for sure," Alvarez said during the interview.
The production budget for "Don't Breathe" is $9.9 million. However, after the horror movie was premiered in theaters worldwide, it garnered $152.1 million, according to Box Office Mojo. It could not be surprising for some moviegoers to learn that this film will have its sequel.
"Don't Breathe" follows the story of Rocky and her friends Alex, and Money who are Detroit delinquents. They make a living by breaking into homes and stealing money and other items.
Their next target becomes a horror for the three of them. The house owned by a blind man who is an Army veteran. The three were able to enter the house by giving a drug to the dog. Money underestimates the blind man's ability. When the blind man wakes up after the loud noise and encounters Money, he murders Money. Rocky and Alex evade the man after he killed Money. As they are looking for a way to escape the house, they were surprised to see a restrained, gagged woman in a homemade padded cell.
"Don't Breathe" was released in March 2016 and earned positive reviews. The horror film garnered $152 million in box office revenue.
