It remains unknown if they will reprise their roles for "The Divergent Series: Ascendant" even after news of it being made to a spinoff TV series circulated online.
There are rumors saying that Theo James and Shailene Woodley are silently displeased with the concept of starring on the small screen. In a previous interview with Screen Rant, Shailene Woodley expressed her disappointment after learning that "The Divergent Series: Ascendant" will be made into a TV spinoff.
"Last I heard they were trying to make it into a television show," Shailene Woodley said. "I didn't sign up to be in a television show."
She admitted that she's not interested in starring in a television after Lionsgate changed their plan for "Divergent Series: Ascendant." This maybe because the third title brought about $180 million while the rest of the titles brought more than $297 million in the box office.
Shailene Woodley Arrested While Protesting
While fans are waiting for more updates about the "Divergent Series: Ascendant," the star continues on with their lives. In fact, the female lead recently made headlines after getting arrested for trespassing during a peaceful protest against the Dakota Access Pipeline, Movie Pilot reported.
Woodley tried to capture the events to keep everyone updated about the protest. The video was posted on her Facebook page, which documented how she was arrested. She was confused why she was arrested when everyone also entered the premises.
