Meet Shinwell Johnson In 'Elementary' Season 5
"Elementary" season 5 teased fans by allowing Entertainment Weekly to get a sneak peek in the coming season's major character. The online publication got an exclusive first look at Nelsen Ellis' debut on the series. Come "Elementary" season 5, Joan Watson (Lucy Liu) and Sherlock Holmes will have a new ally in the person of Shinwell Johnson. Shinwell will be working with Joan on a case after they crossed paths. It should be noted that Shinwell was a former patient of Joan's when she was still a surgeon.

More "Elementary" season 5 spoilers from International Business Times state Joan will be asking Shinwell about Nathan Resor (Matthew Del Negro). Resor is vital in a case about a serial bomber, who recently comes back after six years of inactivity. "I wanted to ask you about someone who was at Great Meadow the same time you were, Nathan Resor," Joan was heard asking Shinwell in a teaser trailer for "Elementary" season 5.

It should be noted that Joan saved Shinwell's life previously. It appears that Shinwell and Nathan worked on the prison cafeteria before. Shinwell admitted to Joan that he did know Nathan however; they haven't really formed a close relationship. He also denied talking about The Bensonhurst bomber. While Shinwell appeared useless in "Elementary " season 4, the trailer will show fans his connection with the bomber.
Nelsen Ellis is set to appear in the next two episodes after the premiere episode of "Elementary" season 5. "Elementary" season 5 is slated to premiere on Sunday, October 2 on CBS. Watch the trailer below.
