Street Fighter X Mega Man Out for Mac. Unofficially

Capcom did a great fan service by making the 25th anniversary celebration of the blue bomber Street Fighter X Mega Man available to fans at no cost on PC, then one upped themselves by upgrading the game to version 2.0 a short time later. Suffice it to say, everyone seemed pretty pleased.

Except anyone who uses a Mac.

Redditor belthesarman wasn't too happy with that, so he did the logical thing, and made a Mac port, then told the internet about it. As noted by the author, there's a bit of a graphical distortion due to the nature of the port when playing the game in full screen, but it's easily remedied. There's also an audio delay, but that's about the worst of it.

This unofficial Mac version boasts all the updates version 2.0, so users will have access to all the recent changes, seen below:

- Confirmation prompt before exiting (ESC) or resetting (F12) the game
- E Tank glitch and various other bugs fixed
- Improved controller support (Game defaults to keyboard on launch; make sure controller is plugged in prior to opening the file, then go into Options menu and set keys)
- Take screenshots using F9
- A new challenger!

Some users are saying that controller support works, at least via Joystick Mapper, though I can't yet confirm this. Any interested fans can go here to download the Street Fighter X Mega Man port.

"Having fought countless robot masters over the years, Mega Man is ready to lay back, relax and enjoy his 25th Anniversary. Getting wind of this, Ryu and his fellow Street Fighters want one last battle before they let their own anniversary finish," described Capcom.

Among the brawlers include classic street fighters Ryu, Chun-Li, Blanka, and a few new schoolers like Rolento, Rose, and Urien. Like in past titles, Mega will absorb their talents upon defeating them. Seeing the blue bomber re-enact Chun-Li's patented lightning kick...it's truly a remarkable sight to behold.

Fans with Windows PC's can grab the patch from Capcom's Mega Man hub if they haven't already. And for Mega audiophiles, the game's entire soundtrack is also up for grabs.
