While the "19 Kids & Counting" clan has been bombarded with criticisms following the scandal of the eldest son Josh Duggar, the family admits that they thrive in the negative impressions. It appears that the Duggar family actually depends on the haters to become popular.
The Duggar Brand
"19 Kids & Counting" was canceled following the sexual addiction scandal of the eldest Duggar son, Josh. Ironically, Josh has been preaching about family values and such only to find out that he molested five young girls, which includes four of his own sisters. With all these negative issues, you'd think that the Duggar family will fall apart. Turns out, the family is actually relishing the haters and their criticisms.
"19 Kids & Counting" clan returned to television, landing a second series focused on two of the Duggar sisters. While they have lost plenty of advertisement deals and their primary source of income, the family appears to be doing well per Inquistr. One of the factors that maintained the Duggar brand is the haters.

The Duggar Haters
Several online groups created for the sole purpose to lambast the "19 Kids & Counting" clan are responsible for putting the Duggar brand forward according to the report. The Duggar family continues to attract haters with their strong resistance towards homosexuality, the way they hid their sexual transgressions despite being Christians and so much more. While these followers cannot be considered as their fans, these people continue to feed the Duggar publicity.
While it is true that a follower is as good as one viewer for their show regardless of their intention, there's still the problem of advertisers pulling out. Per Parent Herald, four more advertisers pulled out from the "19 Kids & Counting" spinoff series entitled "Jill & Jessa: Counting On." With this, the show might probably cancel sooner or later.
