Seemingly proving their reputation, EA has removed content from their upcoming DLC for Battlefield 3, Aftermath and End Game. Why? Good question.
According to a July post on the official Battlefield 3 twitter account, Aftermath was supposed to offer new weapons, maps, and vehicles, as was End Game. However, it's since been confirmed that both DLC packs won't be getting any new weapons.
Nice, huh?
This is apparently a continuing tradition for EA, who had previously failed to deliver on new vehicles they had promised for their Armored Kill DLC, irritating quite a few fans.
Despite the lack of weapons, Aftermath is still on the way. The fourth DLC for the title is "Set amongst the shattered districts, streets and surrounding villages of a post-earthquake Tehran Battlefield 3: Aftermath depicts a continuing struggle for supremacy and survival amongst the devastation," said the official website.
Developer DICE describes the set up for Aftermath:
"With operational capacity severely compromised the opposing forces must adapt and engage in vertical and horizontal urban combat amongst the dust and rubble with cracks and fissures in the terrain providing unexpected cover and paths to objectives. Additional support comes in the form of heavily modified troop transports and civilian vehicles specially adapted to deliver deadly force to the enemy."
The earthquake ravaged area Aftermath also offers four new maps, as well as new game modes. Unless EA decides to remove those too.
As for End Game, little is known apart from the promised additions, but a March release date of next year is expected.
