Technology giant, Microsoft is preparing for the launch of Windows 8. The company has introduced newly-designed mice and keyboards to work with Windows 8 running tablets and PCs.
The new system puts Microsoft into the ring against Apple's iPads.
The Microsoft keyboard is a wireless Wedge Mobile Keyboard. It has a thick rubber cover for protection which works also as a tablet stand and can be tilted a small angle for better ergonomics. It's priced at $79.95. Microsoft's wireless Wedge Touch Mouse, which will retail at $69.95, looks like a pocket-sized wedge of cheese.
It's small and fits in perfectly for a mobile device. There is no scroll wheel, instead, the top portion of the mouse is touch sensitive and you can do vertical or horizontal scrolling. The Wedge mouse has BlueTrack technology, letting you use the mouse on any surface like a carpet or granite. Both, the keyboard and mouse will use Bluetooth to connect to tablet or PC so they can work with Android and iOS tablets.
Microsoft told that the existing Touch mouse will be updated to support Windows 8. There will also be a Sculpt Touch Mouse and full-size Sculpt Mobile Keyboard, both for $49.95 according to the company.
Surface does not use Intel's processors but it will be based on ARM processors.
The next OS of Microsoft, Windows 8 will run on both tablets and PCs. It will offer a newer version of "Metro" interface, Metro UI giving your PC a new face.
Windows revenue fell by 13 percent in three months to $4.15 billion, falling short by average analyst estimate of $4.44 billion, according to Bloomberg. It is the fifth time the company had fallen short. Both Windows 8 and their tablet, Surface will launch on Oct. 26.
