Splinter Cell Blacklist Pop-Up Trailer Fills In The Plot Holes

The problem we're having with Splitner Cell: Blacklist stems from the same reboot issues that are effecting films and games across the spectrum. We get that despite being the same veteran Sam Fisher looking younger and being voiced by a completely new actor that isn't Michael Ironside. In fact, it's what makes Ubisoft's spin on Pop-Up Video for the original Blacklist trailer just as helpful as blindsiding us with the game's announcement at E3.

In fact, going over the fractured history of Splitner Cell is ironic considering creator Tom Clancy's stringent list of details and character trees. So what's it mean when the game is getting so overly complicated that we need constant reminders about Sam's gear, his team--one of whom, the sniper, is mysteriously ignored in this pop-up info fest. The trailer also ends with the first look at pre-order exclusives that, in a weirdly similar Assassin's Creed III way, offer a new single-player mission and Steelbook case along with armor upgrades (and "Gold" goggles).

Guess Ubisoft just has those things lying around, gathering dust. Splinter Cell: Blacklist should be expected in 2013.
