Marvel Heroes is the upcoming MMO from Gazillion Entertainment, including Diablo creator David Brevik, that will apparently wipe the Marvel Ultimate Alliance games from our minds. Then again, it really does seem to be an MMO that offers the usual grind and gifting from other franchise titles like World of Warcraft and Diablo 3.
The fact that the film-verse's design is being combined with motion comics over CGI seems like a weird mix. At San Diego Comic-Con, Gamespot watches The Scarlet Witch in action for a quest that focuses on clearning Purifiers out of Mutant Town, a known spot in the Marvel Universe. Likewise, the fact that so much of Heroes feels and looks like Diablo shouldn't be that big of a surprise. There's also Open Quests, which means that there could be something that impedes you while in the world on a quest (e.g. "Oh, there's the Sentinel.") Heroes will be free-to-play and offers a huge amoutn of character alteration with signature costumes and personal modifications.
There's no set release date for the game, but Brevik ends the video with the hint that "it'll be sooner than you think."
