Creating the official art book for a historica gaming franchise is a tough ask. But it seems like if you ask the artistic team that makes up UDON, they can merely sneeze them out. Along with an upcoming Marvel vs. Capcom 3 artbook due in hardcvoer at San Diego Comiuc-Con this week, they're also going to be responsile for a 300-page book looking at the entirity of Sonic the Hedgehog from his Genesis origins to new dominance on the Nintendo Wii.
The book, according to Retro Game Network, is both an homage and badge of honor when it comes to acknowledging the fastest hedgehog in history. The hardcover willl retail for $49.99 and include comprehensive looks back at every Sonic game from Genesis to Game Gear and beyond. It'll even acknowledge the comics printed under the Archie comics label, which have been going strong ever since their debut and continue publishing today.
The hardcover is a must-have for the definitite Sonic fan and more than ready to join UDON's MvC3 artbook. Combining the two is the closest fan-fiction you'll ever have between Smash Brothers, Capcom and Marvel.
