The movie set records at the box office, so why should the mobile game be any different?
Gameloft's The Amazing Spider-Man has officially reached the best sales ranking in the video games category on the App Store. Since the game's launch on iOS on June 28, the game has charted among the top five grossing games in 72 countries, including the United States, England, Germany, France, Brazil, Italy, Russia and Canada.
Consumer ratings are also exceptional, with an average ranging from 4.5/5 to 5/5 in most countries around the world. It's unfortunate the console version couldn't have been the same.
"We are delighted that the The Amazing Spider-Man has been met with such great enthusiasm," said Gonzague de Vallois, Senior Vice-President Publishing at Gameloft. "Our production teams have invested heavily in making sure to offer both fans of Gameloft and the Spider-Man franchise a fully immersive experience into the Super Hero's world with a completely open 3D environment and stunning graphics." "In the Amazing Spider-Man Gameloft has once again delivered an experience that is robust, action-packed and deeply compelling" said Andreea Enache-Thune, Senior Vice-President Games and Digital Distribution at Marvel. "That Spider-Man continues to draw fans and mobile gamers into his web is testimony to the strength of the continuing partnership between Gameloft and Marvel Entertainment."
The Amazing Spider-Man is a 3D action game that incorporates characters, environments and an immersive storyline inspired from the upcoming movie. Gameloft describes it as having "numerous missions, rich gameplay and comprehensive battle systems, The Amazing Spider-Man also promises several hours of action-packed entertainment and fun, and is currently available on the App Store and Google Play."
