Wreck-It Ralph Getting Its Own Game

Wreck-It Ralph, the upcoming Disney animated film about a video game villain looking for a new direction, is coming to the Nintendo just when it's coming out to theaters. The game version of Ralph is a side-scroller being developed by Activision. Every level will be treated as one of the games featured in Ralph like the Mario Kart racing themed "Sugar Rush" or Halo/Metroid Prime-esque "Hero's Duty." There'll even be the Fix-It Felix, Jr. level, which is Ralph's original game before he decides to go off and hop around the various video game worlds for a new purpose instead of just wrecking things.

The game follows popular movie tie-in plot structure by taking place after the movie and shows Ralph and Felix teaming up to stop a "Cy-Bug" invasion across the game landscape, thus making them leap from game to game to help out. The Wii edition will let up to two players join in the on-screen action as Ralph and Felix, or the option to switch out the characters in order to tackle different puzzles. Basically, Ralph smashes the bugs and Felix fixes the damage they caused.

There's no confirmation that the cast of the film, including Jack McBrayer, John C. Reily and Sarah Silverman will be involved with the game.  Nor any confirmation that the amazing cameos from the film, like Zangief and Q*bert will appear, though their respective companies might not be as agreeable for them to be in a legit game than a movie based on gaming. The Nintendo exlcuisve will be out this fall on the Wii, Nintendo DS and 3DS.

In the mean time, you can still play the addicting Fix-It Felix Jr. in 8-bit at the official site.
