Dead or Alive 5, which is still coming off some dazzling E3 footage, is getting a special collector's edition for their European fans. The special edition sounds relatively underwhelming when you have gigantic bundles like the Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Edition coming out. The collector's edition seems like a really creepy cheesecake release instead of providing anything beyond an esthetical enhancement.
For example, the pre-order bonus for the collector's edition is choosing between white or black bikinis for the female cast including Kasumi, Leifang, Hitomi, Christie, Tina and Ayane. While we know the DOA team think DLC characters are unfair, just what is the point of choosing between biknis for fighting games? The other special edition features inclue a metal case, soundtrack, art book for the game and...the game.
It seems like there's almost no reason to think about importing this, unless you're a real stickler for bikinis and a huge fan of the Volleyball edition. But this will be the only time that you'll get to finally test the theory that Virtua Fighter has the superior characters to DoA, so there's that if you're not a satorial fighting expert.
