The hit mobile app Angry Birds returns with a new release 'Angry Birds Space' from development company Rovio.
The official Angry Birds Space launch features 60 different levels with more level updates scheduled in the near future for the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Android, Mac, and Windows. Those lovable yet destructive birds are sucked through a vortex into deep space along with their nemesis, the green pigs. Now they must utilize forces of gravity along with other objects in striking their targets.
Similar to earlier versions, gamers fling the birds off on a slingshot where physics will play a bigger role in aim, floating, and trickshots. Vice President of Rovio, Ville Heijari, spoke about the new release.
"From the weightlessness of space to the gravity wells of nearby planets, fans can have fun with physics as they try out new gameplay possibilities," said Heijari.
"We wanted to create a fresh new approachable take on the Angry Birds gameplay...Five of the original characters have new looks and superpowers, and there is one entirely new character that turns elements into ice on contact."
Angry Birds Space added new elements to the game for enhanced gameplay. The new release contrasts from previous versions where players would mostly replay the same game with a different skin.
Angry Birds Space is now available for .99 cents on the iPhone, iPod Touch and $3 for the iPad . A free Windows demo is avaialble for download. Versions for the Amazon Kindle Fire and Nook are on sale for $2.99.
Android users can get a free ad supported version from Google Play. Non ad supported versions are sold for .99 cents and $2.99 for Android tablets.
