The Golden State Warriors practically have all bases covered though their big men in the middle could use a big overhaul. Zaza Pachulia has been known to do damage on the offensive end but the defensive side as well as work on the glass leaves a lot to be desired.
The thing with the Golden State Warriors is that they don’t need an all-star center to compliment their locker full of stars. Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and newly acquired Kevin Durant have that covered so the need is really a big man who can render some role-playing duties.
Greg Monroe could be an interesting addition seeing how the 26-year-old has disappointed in Milwaukee. He is apparently not fit as the main man up front and seems more effective doing the dirty work. If something comes up, he could be a good addition to fill in the little things that Pachulia is unable to do.
Greg Monroe’s numbers for the current season are far from his usual career averages though a change in scenery could improve on that, Blue Man Hoop reported. The trade talks hounding him have obviously become a distraction and most believe that he will be dealt somewhere along the line this season.
With the Warriors filled with gunners, addressing their middle-men woes could work to their advantage. It also lessens the pressure from the Georgetown standout with the focus more on team play.
But the best part of it all for Monroe is that he instantly gets a chance to vie for an NBA ring, assuming the Warriors make it to the NBA Finals. The Bucks are waiting on offers and as far as the Warriors are concerned, Andre Iguodala or Shaun Livingston could be dangled though it may take more considering Monroe earns a hefty annual $16 million.
Greg Monroe has been relegated to a reserve role under Jason Kidd but has proven steady, JS Online reported. There is no telling if he will get the vote of confidence back though he can easily be an asset to any team – the Golden State Warriors of which are at the top of the heap.
