Mick Foley couldn’t hide his disgust at what went down at Hell in a Cell where Universal champion Kevin Owens was able to retain his title against Seth Rollins thanks to Chris Jericho’s assist. With Survivor Series coming up, Foley admitted he needed both Owen and Jericho to lead team Raw.
With three slots open, one was given to the United States champion Roman Reigns and the fourth slot copped by Braun Strowman after winning a Battle Royal. It seems like an odd mix to consider with one more slot open. Before that fifth member is named, Jericho and Reigns went at it for the US title.
Reigns won but thanks again to some help from Owens. Rollins came out to even the odds and at some point, the two former stablemates stared down. It doesn’t take a genius that these two may eventually end up reuniting as a unit, likely against “Jeri-KO”, Forbes reported.
The belief is that at some point, it may be a champion vs. champion match between Reigns and Owens which technically means the Big Dog is back in the main cards. WWE fans are of course against it as usual but it is surely shaping up.
So where does this leave the speculated showdown between Jericho and Owens? It is believed that Y2J would get a title-shot so it will be interesting which angle comes first.
Assuming Reigns and Owens do clash, the latter could either stand as a double champion or someone without a title to show. Jericho could take the blame for meddling (or not) and there goes the celebrated breakup.
As for Rollins? Triple H will come out at some point and start that mentor vs. student storyline. Right now, the “Architect” is afloat but it will happen, Bleacher Report reported.
It could take place at Survivor Series seeing Rollins wasn’t included in the five-man team representing WWE Raw, just in case many failed to notice it. Adding more fuel to the fire is a belief that the fifth member is Sami Zayn. What gives?
