Xbox One and PlayStation 4 aren't exactly flush with software right now, with owners mostly waiting for the more exciting titles to drop. Titanfall is the big one for Microsoft's console, due out next week, while Sony is probably glad to have Infamous: Second Son hitting the PS4 later this month.
While not quite as big as those titles, Microsoft's Project Spark was one of the first glimpses that we got of the Xbox One in action at last year's E3, and now the beta is open on the console.
The intriguing world-and-scenario-builder/game has had a PC and Windows 8.1 device beta so far, and now Xbox One owners are getting a chance to try out the title.
It's a cartoony, fun game where you can build a world including mountains, oceans and buildings, populate it with characters, and then play in that world as you see fit. It follows a "creating is playing" philosophy, perhaps comparable to Little Big Planet on a larger scale, and anything you make on Windows can be used on consoles if you're signed in and vice versa.
The PC beta for Project Spark opened in December, and if you participated in that you can get automatic access to the Xbox One version. You can sign up and get a key here if you did not.
The developers have confirmed you will not need an Xbox Live Gold account to play the game on consoles, and an Xbox 350 version is supposedly in the making as well, though details are scarce. The full version of the game is due out later this year, and be sure to check out the video below if you haven't seen it in action.
