Good news for fans of The Wolf Among Us, Telltale Games’ latest ongoing episodic adventure game. According to reports, Telltale Games could be set to release the next episode for The Wolf Among Us as soon as the first week of February.
Telltale president Kevin Bruner recently revealed the expected release week for the game’s second episode on the studio's official forums to counter the fans who complained that they were still waiting to receive any information regarding the upcoming episode for the game since the debut of pilot in early October.
“We were planning the announcement of the ep2 release date just today, and I really wanted to respond to the reddit thread, since the info was imminent anyways. But, we also wanted to make sure that everyone here was the first to know, so here it is,” Bruner stated.
Stating that a probable first week of February release for the second episode for The Wolf Among Us has been planned, Bruner added that “It's been a struggle to get this episode out, for a variety of reasons, but it's finally ready to go.”
“Ep 2 should be available the first week of February. We are working hard with all of our partners (Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, Apple) to coordinate everything, but we’re confident enough to announce that here. The episode is looking really good (as is the rest of the season!),” he added.
Bruner also added that this lengthy absence of episodes for the game is abnormal, to say the least, and that it won't be a problem for subsequent episodes that are planned for the future.
“We are very concerned about the long delay for this episode, but this is one of those occasions where several things conspired against us (not to mention the additional delays due to the holidays).”
“I won't dive into the details, but it’s been an unusual and specific set of circumstances and we do not anticipate it happening again as we go forward with the rest of the season.”
Nonetheless, we feel that three months between episodes for a single game is really a massive wait, when considering Telltale's previous releases, like The Walking Dead, didn't take more than two months before pushing out new content.
Telltale’s The Wolf Among Us, planned to offer as many as five episodes, released its first episode for PC and Xbox 360 worldwide on October 11, 2013, and for PlayStation 3 on October 15, 2013 in North America.
