Telltale confirms their first game based off of DC Comics' "Fables" series will be called "The Wolf Among Us," and is coming to Xbox 360, PS3 and PC sometime this summer. The game will be in the episodic format for which the developer is well known. Players control Bigby Wolf, the "Fables" represenation of the Big Bad Wolf from folklore and fairy tales, as he tries to keep the existence of his fellow fairly tale characters from the rest of the world.
DC Comics' "Fables," written by Bill Willingham, follows many fairy tale characters forced out of their world by "The Adversary" and who have subsequently created Fabletown in the middle of New York City. Bigby Wolf acts as the town sherrif. It's unknown if Willingham is involved with Telltale Games' take on the story. Bigby looks human as he has essentially been turned into a werewolf in his transition to the mundane world. Telltale Games did mention Bigby would encounter The Three LIttle Pigs and Mr. Toad over the course of their tale, the company tells IGN while announcing the game.
"The Wolf Among Us" unfortunately has to follow Telltale's "The Walking Dead," which saw extreme commercial and critical success, and brought Telltale Games to the forefront of crafting well-done interactive narratives.
