Oculus Touch VR system is expected to work well with a plethora of VR games from Steam. However, as the Oculus Touch is new, there may be limitations to the games played on the controllers. On the other hand, the Oculus Touch reportedly boasts solid motion controls.
It should be noted that there are currently over a thousand VR supported games and apps on Steam. Among these, 800 reportedly feature tracked motion controller support as well as official support for the HTC Vive. On the contrary only 180 are said to support the Oculus Rift, Upload VR reported.
Furthermore, not all of games are reportedly optimized for the Oculus Touch but may be optimized for Razer Hydra or any third-party peripheral. As for setting-up the Oculus Rift Touch, there are reportedly two or three sensors to choose from. A 180 degree setup may be expected to enable playing all of the Oculus Touch titles on the Oculus Home. Note that a 360 degree tracking is also available to support standing playspace apps on Steam. Furthermore, the Steam VR may then be launched as well as the Run Room Setup option to choose either a room scale or a standing arrangement.
However, note that the Oculus Touch sports an analog stick inside each controller rather than the trackpad like on the Vive. Hence, several options have reportedly been noted to be more difficult on the Oculus Touch. On the contrary, the Oculus Touch reportedly comes with a hand presence experience and 54 Games to match.
In other news, the Oculus Touch reportedly costs $199, far cheaper than the Vive. Moreover, a cheaper Oculus Rift has also surfaced over at Amazon to amp up the sales of the device. Despite the long time the developers put in on the device, it has been noted to be well worth the wait. It has been noted that the Oculus Touch comes with smooth and accurate motion controllers, according to report.
