Developer Treyarch shared new details regarding the upcoming Season 2 update for "Call of Duty: Black Ops 6" that adds a new Zombies map and many quality-of-life changes.
The upcoming patch is set to come out on Jan. 28, 2025, which will introduce The Tomb map that thrusts players deep beneath the earth into ancient catacombs. Treyarch also posted on the official "Call of Duty" website explaining more about the Season 2 update.

The studio said that a British archeologist by the name of Sir Archibald Fotherington-Smythe was the lead of an excavation at the site in 1908 and had grand expectations. The handful of photographs from the archeologist's failed expedition have surfaced showing what exactly happened to him.
In The Tomb, Weaver, Grey, Carver, and Maya follow Gabriel Krafft's final words and head to a nearby excitation site. They are still on a journey to find the Sentinel Artifact. They arrive deep into long-undisturbed catacombs that were built on an ancient burial ground, according to Eurogamer.
Treyarch added that The Tomb map was designed to offer players a similar gameplay experience to Zombies mode's Liberty Falls map. The upcoming area will have tighter play spaces that focus on replayability.

A New Zombies Map
Furthermore, the new map promises to be filled with plenty of Easter Eggs for players to find as well as a reimagined Wonder Weapon that was inspired by the franchise's past. The studio plans to share more specific gameplay details regarding the update closer to the release of the new map.
Treyarch also hinted that the upcoming map will have callbacks to classic Zombies maps that were added to the "Call of Duty" franchise. It added that it would be more evocative with Pack-a-Punch camos, Game Rant said.
Additionally, the developer also teased fans by saying that one of the most iconic SMGs in the history of the Zombies mode will make a return in the upcoming Season 2 update. Many fans are no doubt excited about the addition of the new map to the mode.
The studio is also celebrating 115 Day with a mystery box that is filled with announcements of Zombies of "Call of Duty: Black Ops 6." The quality-of-life improvements include new features that players from the community have been asking for since the game's launch.
One example is players will soon be able to track up to 10 Calling Card challenges and 10 Camo challenges in both Multiplayer and Zombies modes. The latter is also getting a co-op pause button that allows the party leader to pause a match temporarily, according to IGN.
