Fans of "Girl Meets World" have been anxiously waiting for the renewal announcement from the Disney Channel but they have already started to fear that it will never come as the network is rumored to be about to pull the plug on the show. The current season is down to its four episodes that will be aired until January 2017, but Disney remains mum about a renewal.
Rowan Blanchard herself made a call on the fans of “Girl Meets World” to campaign for a renewal via Twitter and they did not disappoint the show’s young star. The online campaign had posts that came flooding online. Blanchard posted in Twitter that she wanted for her generation to be a voice of hope and change. The young star added that she hoped young people like her will continue to have the chance to be those.
The call for renewal made by Blanchard seemingly points to Disney leaning towards axing “Girl Meets World” rather that giving it another year on the air. For now, it remains to be seen if the renewal call initiated by Blanchard herself will be able to make the network change its mind.
Disney said it was way too early to be talking about a “Girl Meets World” Season 4 back in July. It could have been because the season has just started and will be running until early 2017. Fans speculated that the network might have an update regarding the show’s fate when the current season ends. That might mean that fans would have to wait until all the episodes have aired.
In the previous seasons, renewal announcements have always been done before the current season is far from being over. It now seems unlikely for Disney to not have made an announcement for a new season of “Girl Meets World” this late. With the fate of the show looking bleak, fans find the episode title of the season finale quite ominous. Titled “Girl Meets World”, many believe that the episode may very well be the series finale as well.
