Samsung Galaxy S8 will have the impressive digital assistant called Viv after acquiring last the Viv Labs, a startup created by the makers of Siri. Based on reports, the South Korean company plans to include Viv into the upcoming smartphone and extend the voice-assistant services to wearable technology devices and home appliances.
Based on reports, third-party services would be integrated to the new Samsung Galaxy S8, although there were no details given regarding the type of features that will be covered upon release, which is set in early 2017. According to executive vice president Rhee Injong, the agent will be smarter as more services are attached to it, even if they do not do something on their own. Injong also assured that the company will work on learning additional and new services to offer to the end-users.
The new Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to attract consumers when it releases, following the major recall earlier this year of the company's flagship smartphone Galaxy Note 7. The integration of an AI assistant feature into the product lines is believed to give the company a significant advantage over its rivals like Apple, Google and Amazon, according to The Verge. Meantime, rumors also claim that the upcoming device will come with a bigger screen size of 5.7-inch to cater to the Note 7 users.
Moreover, some reports suggest that Samsung Galaxy S8 may also be given a bigger display feature with a 6.2-inch screen like the two previous models launched in the past two years. However, a bigger screen does not always mean a bigger phone. There are speculations that the front of the new device is likely dominated by the display with no bezels.
Samsung Galaxy S8 is set to release in 2017.
