Adult Swim's "Rick and Morty" is up for Season 3 and is expected to be shown in December. This was confirmed in a tweet by a Dan Guterman, a writer and producer for the show. Fan reaction has been warm with congratulatory tweets sent, although some have expressed that it had taken too long for the third season to come back on TV.
The news started with a tweet posted by Dan Guterman on October 31 saying "And I am officially done. #RAM #S3". This was followed the following day, with "I did may be my best work ever over the last 12 months and I am very happy to not have to do any more. #sleep."
It also seems that the team behind "Rick and Morty" have been working hard for the last 12 months to come up with the whole third season. In another report, two writers mentioned that they were waiting for their copies back from Bardell Entertainment, the Toronto-based studio which does the show's animation.
Meanwhile, according to iDigitalTimes, co-creator Dan Harmon claimed that he does not know when the release date would be. He was answering a recent Reddit AMA and there were lots of questions about the return of "Rick and Morty." When pressed by follow-up questions, he answered. "I'm not authorized (nor would I really be able) to give an airdate for season 2."
Although the exact date has not yet been divulged, fans should expect promos and teasers to come out at least two weeks before the start of "Rick and Morty" Season 3. Or looking at it in another way, the trailers and teasers should start coming out mid-November at the earliest.
