So you've just ran out of Incense, PokeBalls or maybe Lures and you are far away from a PokeStop. Nothing is far worse than spotting a rare Nearby Pokemon and you can do nothing about due to shortage of ammo or in "Pokemon GO's" case, items.

How to get free PokeCoins in "Pokemon GO?"
As of we speak, on the latest version of the "Pokemon GO" there is only one way to collect PokeCoins for free and that is to leave a Pokemon at a PokeGym. Once you get to level 5, you can now choose to join between three teams, Valor, Mystic and Instinct and you can leave your Pokemon in a friendly PokeGym so that you can help to defend it.
Make sure that the friendly PokeGym you have found in "Pokemon GO" has an open slot for your Pokemon to be placed or be left in. If you are unsure on how to check if there is an available slot, just take note of the little icon on the bottom left.
If that icon is missing, you'll be needing to to train your Pokemon in the gym, thus increasing its prestige. You can train your Pokemon by clicking the boxing glove icon on the bottom right corner of the screen. Once the PokeGym level up, you now have a free slot to use and get free PokeCoins in "Pokemon GO."
You can also conquer other gym to gather PokeCoins. Once you've defeated a rival gym in "Pokemon GO," it will turn white which means it is unoccupied. You can now claim the PokeGym as your team's own. Once you have successfully deposited a Pokemon at a Gym , you can open the Shop screen to collect your "Defender Bonus.
