iPhone 8 is among the several upcoming smartphones that is being awaited by tech fans. Although the biggest smartphone releases of 2016 like iPhone 7 have come and gone, reports suggest that there are still more mobile devices to look forward to in the early part of 2017. Rumors also began to spread suggesting the likely specs and features of the next iPhone variant.
The release of iPhone 8 may still be a long way ahead, but this does not seem to keep the rumors from going around, suggesting that the 2017 model is likely the biggest upgrade to iPhone series, since the iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 6. As part of the 10th anniversary of the first iPhone launch, Apple is believed to be working on a total design overhaul, including an OLED display panel and a glass body.
iPhone 8 reports also claim that the fans may look forward to the integration of the Touch ID fingerprint sensor feature into the touchscreen as another huge change. Aside from that, eye or facial scanning to unlock the phone, wireless charging and faster processor are also expected to be included.
iPhone 8 is also rumored to sport an all-glass design with OLED screen, including an integrated fingerprint scanning, although only in the top model. This could mean that the base model is likely to have the old iPhone design, according to Gadgets. Meanwhile, there have been some indications that Apple was aiming at introducing wireless charging in the 2016 iPhone. Although this did not push through, a number of internal iterations of the said technology have been reported.
Considering Apple's plan to introduce a wireless technology beginning with the removal of the 3.5 mm headphone jack, dropping the need for a physical power is believed to be the next step towards this goal. In relation with this, there are speculations that the said technology will likely be included in the upcoming 10th anniversary event.
