"Game of Thrones" Season 7 promises to feature a huge battle, potential new alliances, as well as the return of a long-absent character. Latest spoiler news hint of Gendry's reappearance in Dragonstone including a meeting between Tyrion and Davos.
The hit HBO series "Game of Thrones" is set to return to the small screens with its penultimate season that will include dragons, death and the impending threat of the White Walkers. Latest on-set photos and videos revealed by Spanish news outlets Los Siete Reinos and El Correo, as cited by Watchers on the Wall, teased of filming activities that include Gendry (Joe Dempsie), Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) and Davos (Liam Cunningham).
Cast members Dinklage and Cunningham were seen on Muriola Beach, a Spanish location rumored to be part of the HBO show's Dragonstone site. The two actors appear to be preparing for a scene that involves a small boat located near the shore line. It is still unclear if the said scene represents a potential sea trip that the Tyrion and Davos will take together.
However, Davos' appearance in Dragonstone also led to speculations of a potential alliance between Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Daenerys (Emilia Clarke). Davos has been one of Jon's trusted allies while Daenerys bestowed Tyrion with the title Hand of the Queen in Season 6. The said character may be acting as Jon's emissary to represent the new King of the North in a meeting said to happen in Daenerys' new home base.
Meanwhile, Dempsie was also spotted at the same Spanish filming location, as indicated in the same report. The actor, who portrays Gendry, has been absent from recent seasons of the HBO series. He was last seen in Season 3 rowing away from Dragonstone after Davos advised him to leave and head towards Kings Landing.
Story speculations posted on Winter is Coming indicated that Gendry may have followed a different path as opposed to Davos' suggestion. The character may have opted to row around Dragonstone instead of traveling to the mainland. At this time, Gendry's role in Season 7 is still unclear. However, he may opt to join forces with Daenerys and help the Queen of Dragons to expand her alliance with different factions particularly the Stormlands.
"Game of Thrones" Season 7 is expected to premiere in summer 2017. Take a peek at Daenerys' army that was shown during the Season 6 finale:
