Kevin Love responds to critics murmuring if he is worthy to stay at Cleveland Cavaliers in their title defense or simply end in trade block to pave way for JR Smith.
NBA 2016-17 campaign looms and Cleveland Cavaliers preps up to storm the league again. However, much questions surround Kevin Love's future. Ironically, Love is a perpetual item for trade rumors although helped a lot during the nerve-wracking 7-game series against clutches of Stephen Curry's Golden State Warriors. Love responded and shrugged off critics by strong remarks against these doubts.
According to Yahoo! Sports, Love accepted all pressures since joining LeBron James in Cleveland Cavaliers three years ago. There are bunch of basketball fans expecting him to provide same stellar stats when he played for Minnesota. Though logically, this is no longer possible when in same squad with dominant duo of James and Kyrie Irving. What happened to Love was plain impact of playing alongside bigger caliber guns.
So what will happen to JR Smith then? He is still in limbo of free agency awaiting to re-sign for Cleveland Cavaliers. Smith asked for $15 million contract and good that LeBron backed him up. Cavs have a problem here when they finally hit the cap space, Sportsrageous said.
One equation that Cleveland Cavaliers can employ to solve Smith's riddle is to let go of Kevin Love, sources say. But to lessen the feeling of getting ditched, Love should be in Oklahoma City Thunder where he can fill the hole Kevin Durant left. In return, Victor Oladipo can fill Cavs' second team after Irving. In terms of salary, defense and offense Oladipo is a good option to accommodate Smith's financial demand.
Then comes another riddle, Cleveland Cavaliers pegged Love for $21 million earning while Oladipo's salary at Oklahoma is $6.5 million. Then doubts about trade feasibility resumes with huge disparity between these two figures. Love probably knows this scenario when he lambasts critics by bursting, "I really don't give a **it!"
