It will still be a long wait for fans as "Daredevil" Season 3 is not arriving until at least in 2018. Netflix is scheduled to release "Luke Cage" this month while two other Marvel superhero series are slated to premiere in 2017. When the Charlie Cox-starred series does return, Vincent D'Onofrio's sinister character Kingpin will likely come back.
D'Onofrio portrayed the villain so outstandingly that some fans wondered if he would reprise his role for "Daredevil" Season 3. While promoting his latest movie "The Magnificent Seven" in Toronto last week, the actor told LRMOnline that he was no longer signed to do more Netflix/Marvel series, but if the production calls him to do more episodes, he'll definitely show up.
The "Jurassic World" actor also shared that Kingpin's story would continue but he just can't tell when. When asked about the fate of his villainous character, the actor replied, "That I can't answer. I do know, but I can't answer... so take that how you will. Jeff and Charlie (Cox) and Netflix love Kingpin, and so, Kingpin is good for Marvel's television stuff and I think they agree." Nevertheless, there are rumors that if D'Onofrio won't make it to "Daredevil" Season 3, he is likely to make an appearance on "Iron Fist" and "The Defenders."
Although fans may need to wait a long before "Daredevil" Season 3 gets released, fans of the blind lawyer/vigilante will still get to see the hero in "The Defenders," together with Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage. Spoilers also indicate that Elektra, played by Elodie Yung, might return in Season 3.
The last time fans saw her was when she was dug out from her grave and placed in a casket. It is assumed that the organization, known as The Hand, will bring her back to life and it's likely that she may never be the same person again. "Daredevil" Season 3 is expected to premiere sometime in 2018.
