Halloween 2016 is still six weeks away, but Nike recently introduced the new Air Foamposite One Halloween shoe to celebrate the occasion. The new basketball sneaker features some classic elements to it reminiscent of the trick-or-treat tradition.
SneakerBarDetroit stated that the Nike Air Foamposite One Halloween is predominantly black, with orange accents. The top of the basketball shoe features a black foam shell, a black tongue and black shoelaces. There is a small orange Swoosh and orange line embroidered on the toe portion and tongue, respectively. The top of the tongue and base of the insoles feature the One Cent Penny logo with a flame in orange that stands for the lit candles inside a carved pumpkin.
The rear portion of the Nike Air Foamposite One Halloween's shell actually features the jagged teeth of a jack-o'-lantern. There are embroidered candy corn over the teeth that serve as eyes so that when the shoes are placed side by side, the angry face of a jack-o'-lantern appears. The rest of the shoe is basically black, including the insoles and tabs. The Nike Air Foamposite One Halloween features an icy blue outsole, with black pods and herringbone patterns from the front to the back. There is a large orange Swoosh on the bottom of the Nike Air Foamposite One as well.
Overall, the Nike Air Foamposite One Halloween features a fun take on the classic basketball shoe for the season. The Nike Air Foamposite One initially launched in 1997, made famous by Penny Hardaway. The upper of the Nike Air Foamposite One is highlighted by the glossy shell and a Zoom Air-Sole unit that offers responsive cushioning. The shoe has an inner bootie to give a secure fit, polyurethane midsole for added cushioning and a translucent rubber outsole that gives great traction.
XXLMag reported that the early images of the Nike Air Foamposite One Halloween are actually in kids sizes, so it is still uncertain whether the sneakers will be available in adult sizes. Based on the stated price point of $180, there may be adult sizes to release as well. The Nike Air Foamposite One Halloween is set to launch on Oct. 31, 2016 and will be available on Nike.com and other Nike retail outlets. More updates and details are expected soon.
