“Scandal” season 6 is still in the works and we did touch some angles on the TV series last month. A lot of that was centered on Olivia “Liv” Pope (Kerry Washington) who had ties with Jake (Scott Foley).
In a previous post here on Game N Guide, we did touch on how Olivia was focusing more on Jake. In fact she was even instrumental in hooking him up with “Mellie Grant” (Bellamy Young).
“Fitzgerald Grant” will be stepping down as president and it is believed that the soon-to-be former president will put up a foundation in “Scandal” season 6. Producer Shonda Rhimes bared at the time that “Fitz” will be working (and pursuing) Olivia though recent reports seem to hint otherwise.
Olivia choosing Jake in 'Scandal' Season 6?
One person who should be credible for “Scandal” season 6 is Foley. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, he may have just let the cat out of the bag.
While Rhimes did hint of a possibility that would see Olivia and Fitz working together, Foley bares that Jake and “Liv” could be doing so as well. As far as the relationship goes, will it be affected?
“I’m going to be very unpopular in saying this: I think Olivia has chosen Jake,” said Foley in that piece. Curiously, it may not be that simple with “Rowan” (Joe Morton) the one in between. In short, even if Olivia wanted to be with Jake, there are circumstances preventing such from happening. Based on the flow of things, that trend is likely to continue next season.
Washington’s bump to delay 'Scandal' Season 6?
As everyone probably knows by now, Kerry Washington is pregnant with Nnamdi Asomugha’s second child. A bit of recall places Washington and the show back to season 3 which had to cut the number of episodes from 22 to 18.
With “Scandal” season 6 not due until mid-2017, will the next season factor in Washington’s baby bump or conceal it? If not, she could be seen less similar to what happened back in season 3 as pointed out by TVLine.
Right now there is no definite word on what the producers plan to do. With a long way off, stay tuned for updates in the coming months.
