“Sherlock” Season 4 is still far off but the word out is that the team will have some new faces when it premieres. The possible addition of Sacha Dhawan has been spilled, following the earlier reveal that Toby Jones will be playing villain in the coming season.
Toby Jones was the first one mentioned of coming on board “Sherlock” where he will take on the role of “Culverton Smith." To those who are unaware of who Smith is, he is one of the genius villains who specializes in diseases and bio-weapons.
According to the book written by Sherlock Holmes and creator Arthur Doyle back in 1913, Smith murdered his nephew and then sets Holmes as his next target. Holmes would make people believe that he was hit by Smith’s attacks, a ploy which eventually tricked the villain into confessing his crime to the police.
On the other end, Sacha Dhawan is said to be the other addition following report of an online copy of his CV from Troika Talent. That listing has since been removed and BBC has yet to confirm if Dhawan will indeed be appearing.
One thing that could tilt the tide is the fact that Dhawan has previously worked with “Sherlock” co-creators, Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss. Radio Times tried to touch base with Dhawan’s representatives but they refused to comment on his possible inclusion.
Dhawan worked with Moffatt and Gatiss back in 2013 on “Doctor Who”. He portrayed the role of “Waris Hussein” in “An Adventure in Space and Time”.
Aside from that, Dhawan has had roles on “Line of Duty”, “In the Club”, “Not Safe for Work” and “Tractate Middoth”, all written and directed by Gatiss. Could these be enough to affirm his inclusion for the coming season?
Either way, “Sherlock” season 4 will see the return of mainstays Benedict Cumberbatch and Freeman. The show is set to open this December in the UK and January in the U.S.
