"Beetlejuice" is a 1988 film that garnered a lot of attention with its dark comedy vibe. The sequel, "Beetlejuice 2," had been rumored to be on the works for years now, but is the long wait finally over?
The possibility of the sequel to the 1988 comedy horror "Beetlejuice 2" remains a mystery but Winona Ryder is keeping fans on the edge of their seats as she gave an update on the sequel.
Winona Ryder gives update on 'Beetlejuice 2'
Winona Ryder, who played "goth" girl Lydia Deetz, showed interest on giving fans what they want and reprise her role in "Beetlejuice 2."
But the 44-year-old actress shared that she will only consider to be a part of "Beetlejuice 2" if Director Tim Burton, and Beetlejuice himself, Michael Keaton, will be part of it too.
"I don't really know what's going on with that. Obviously, it was an iconic film. The only way it could really ever be done is with Tim and Michael. I don't know," Winona Ryder told Collider. "There's something that really resonates with all ages, with that film. It's interesting. I think it would be great if it happened, if it was the right circumstances."

'Beetlejuice 2': Tim Burton is interested in doing the sequel
Tim Burton is known for his quirky fantasy films and "Beetlejuice" is definitely one of the films that put him in the map. Does this mean "Beetlejuice 2" is on its way to the theater soon?
Just like Winona Ryder, the 57-year-old film director, producer, artist, writer and animator is also interested to do "Beetlejuice 2."
But Tim Burton knows that in order to give the first film justice, everything must be well thought out.
Again, just like Winona Ryder, Tim Burton believes that the only person who can be Beetlejuice is Michael Keaton.
"There is a script, and I would love to work with him again. I think there is now a better chance than ever," Burton said.
Winona Ryder is in. Tim Burton is in. For now, all we have to do is to wait for Michael Keaton's decision and "Beetlejuice 2" will finally be official.
