In the first Darksiders, horseman of the apocalypse War was tricked into beginning the biblical end of days too early. War sets out to determine who was behind Taking place simultaneously with the events of the first game, Darksiders II sees War's brother Death, another horseman, similarly trying to clear his brother's name.
THQ creative director Luis Gigliotti hopes that the remaining horsemen will have larger roles in games, but nothing has been mentioned about appearances or playability in Darksiders II.
The trailer shows Death, looking like a steroid infused Casey Jones, mounting a sickly steed, galloping after a humongous creature while cutting through monsters with his trademark scythe, the horse leaving a green spectral trail in its wake.
Summoning a skeletal hand as a grappling hook, Death makes his way up the creature's back. Jumping from its hunch, Death is immersed in a cloud of purple smoke, emerging totally transformed into what devs have announced as Death's true form, and jamming his now intimidating scythe into the eye of the walking monolith.
