The team behind Resident Evil once offered Leon Kennedy's "an authentic recreation" of Leon Kennedy's jacket, "made of high quality cowhide leather" no less, commanding an outrageous $1430, and it looks like Ubisoft is following suit, offering gamers the chance at the flowing leather trench of Watch Dogs' own Aiden Pearce. The only catch is that while the deep pocketed who purchased the jacket also found themselves with a copy of Resident Evil 6 to fill the pockets of their new investments, Ubisoft is offering no such bargain with any fancy extras.
Anyone with the money to spare can head over to the Ubi Workshop and consider a purchase, but be quick about it -- only 100 are available. As a proof of authenticity, every jacket comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by the game's production team and by the head of Ubi Workshop.
“By creating this coat, we push our mission even further: offering a unique experience to our fans," said Workshop Director Xavier Szwengler. "We devoted an incredible amount of time and effort into the elaboration of each and every single detail and the choice of premium leather; all this to ensure that the final result would be a precise replica of the actual in-game coat."
It has all the usual jacket mainstays (supposing "jacket mainstays" are a thing), but there are a few stand outs: a magnetic snap on chest, adjustable straps on the sleeves, closable interior pockets, etc., but one of the jacket's more unique features is a map of Chicago printed on the inside of the jacket, presumably so you can look like a true local trying to find the closest Uno Pizzeria.
I'm no fashionista, and I know that leather is definitely one of the pricier materials for clothing, but I'm not sure this warrants spending beyond triple-digit territory. Still, I'd throw one on to keep the Windy City's bluster from making me a bit too chilly. But I'd much rather ride that spider tank.
