The movie adaptation of Atlus' Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 released in Japanese theaters last November. "Persona 3 The Movie: #1 Spring Of Birth" was the first of two films that span the events of the 100+ hour JRPG. Today we're bringing you a trailer for the second film and its release date in Japan.
"Persona 3 The Movie: #2 Midsummer Knight's Dream" may sound like a fluffy and artsy title, but you'd be wrong to dismiss Persona 3's story for anything but engaging and fun. The trailer shows the continuation of the events of the first film, where new characters are introduced and the mystery comes begins to come to a close.
The trailer shows an exchange between the good guy teenager group SEES (Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad) and Strega, the antagonists. Ken, a little boy that is found to be a persona-user, along with Koromaru, another persona-user that's a cute but combat-ready dog, both get their own little highlights in the trailer.

If I had no idea what this game was about, this trailer would probably be incredibly confusing. I'm dying to see these films, but I have to admit, the trailer does little to interest people not already familiar with the source material. It's also oddly edited.
Regardless of my opinions on this particular trailer, and its excess use of screaming children and dog petting, the Persona 3 movies look absolutely beautiful. It's a shame we haven't heard anything about a release outside of Japan, but that may come once both films have hit Blu-ray and DVD.
"Persona 3 The Movie: #2 Midsummer Knight's Dream" will be in theaters in Japan on June 7. The first film will release on Bluray (in Japan) on May 14.
