It's happened before, and it'll happen again. And again, and again.
There's just a few days left until Sucker Punch's PS4 exclusive inFamous: Second Son launches, but not everyone is all that patient. March 21 may only be a week away, but to the impatient, it might as well be a year from now.
Lucky for them that some folks have already gotten their hands on copies of the game, and are willing to part with them on eBay, and even ship them ahead of the release date, meaning you could get a copy well before stores begin selling them. For a price.
A simple search will turn up dozens of options of people trying to sell the game. Case in point, here's one selling the collector's edition of the game with an estimated delivery date of March 20. Sounds good, until you see the asking price is $20 more than the $79.99 you'd pay for it at most retailers. Other offers, like this one here, offer earlier arrivals, but at an even more inflated price for the game, and additional shipping costs to boot, bringing the total to more than $50 what you would pay at a store. Others are even worse, and can't even promise the game will arrive before the official release date.
It's not just collector's editions where people think they can make a quick buck either. Some sellers are asking prices exceeding $70, and even $80 (that's before shipping, mind you) on plain old regular versions of the game.
I get it, supply and demand isn't exactly a foreign concept, and if this is how people want to spend their money, so be it. You're better off just waiting a few more days, but if that's just not your style, buyer beware.
