"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is scheduled for a release date of March 3. Its Expansion Pass was also announced and would cost players cost $20 more.
Nintendo fans might not be delighted with the news of the price, but they can expect that the Zelda's world will get bigger over time. The Japanese gaming company has announced that there will be two DLC (downloadable content) already planned for the game, according to report by Polygon.
This actually came as a no surprise to many hardcore Nintendo fans. One of their previous games, "Fire Emblem Awakening" had a total of eight expansion packs, and it retailed between $6 and $6.50 per piece. Fans that purchased the DLC found their investment are very much worth the price. A huge volume of maps and contents were added to the game, which made it more fun and enjoyable to play.
However, it is not always the case with their games. "Splatoon" fans paid $60 for the game, but there is no extra season pass, paid map packs or cosmetics DLCs. The company has supported the game whole heartedly. They released a wide range of weapons and stages, even a whole new multiplayer mode without asking for a dime from its players.
With regards to the details of "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" Expansion Pack, BGR reported that the package will bring in two sets of DLC. The first one will be released by the summer of this year and will include Cave of Trials challenge, new map feature and a new hard mode. Before the end of the year, during the holidays, the second DLC will become available this will include a brand new original story, additional challenges and a new dungeon.
As an added bonus, "Breath of the Wild" Expansion Pass holders will immediately receive three new treasure chest that can be found in the Great Plateau. It will also include several useful items and an exclusive in-game clothes. Nintendo wants their upcoming game to have a vast array of adventures and a huge area for its game fans to explore.
