“For Honor” is UbiSoft’s new medieval themed MMO arena. It pits three types of warriors against each other, the Viking, the Samurai and the Knights, which one is the strongest and which will survive only the players’ skills will decide.
GameSpot has good news for those who are eager to try UbiSoft’s latest MMO. “For Honor” will soon be entering open beta which will allow players to test the game and get some of the bloodied action while testing the title’s features. In the open beta there will be nine character available and four game modes.
The available modes are Elimination, Dominion, Brawl, and Duel. Once the game has finished production, it will contain five game modes and twelve playable characters. The open beta starts on February 9 and will end on February 12, which gives three days of savage fighting and impressions to tip the scales of favor in either buying or leaving the title.
Game Rant reports that the game weights the impressive 27GB, but the game’s size should not be associated with thought of missing out on the action, as the game’s client and data can be freely downloaded before the beta starts, which will allow players to jump right it once the servers are open. So, download the client, let it update overnight and receive the opportunity to hack and slash series of enemies as soon as the Sun’s first rays hit the ground.
IGN has shared series of videos explaining the game, its story, mechanics and characters. “For Honor” will offer a single player campaign, which follows the events after a big disaster strikes the world. Now the three main factions Knights, Samurai and Vikings are pitted against one another in a fight for the last resourceful pieces of land. Combat is highly strategic which relies on a stamina meter, much like in the “Dark Souls” series. If you run out of stamina, you are a sitting duck. All attacks, dodges, parries and even plain movement while in combat will result in your character losing stamina. Managing stamina and choosing the right moment to attack is what grants you victory in these heavy battles. Much like a MOBA experience, each kill grant you experience which help you unlock certain abilities through the length of the match. Each one of the twelve available characters is unique, coming with their own abilities, strengths, weaknesses and strategy. “For Honor” will be released on February 14, 2017 for PC, PS 4 and XBOX One.
