Just yesterday, I wrote about an update to the beta of Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, and how Blizzard said the game's full release was "on the horizon". It turns out, the horizon was a lot closer than you may have thought. The developers have announced that the Hearthstone is out of beta today and into full release on PC and Mac.
While I did get the feeling the full release was coming, it didn't appear to be quite this soon. It's good news for everyone who has been enjoying the free-to-play card battle game over the last few months, which is available on Battle.net.
iPad support for the game is on its way next, and Blizzard said versions for Android, iPhone, and Windows tablets are also in development and will be available in the future.

"We saw some reports early on that Hearthstone might destroy the planet," said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. "We're pleased to see that the game has been released and the planet is still here...though we apologize for all the lost productivity."
Lost productivity indeed. The game has been very popular through its beta, maintaining enthusiast players and drawing in new ones. Yesterday's update made a change that tried to further separate experienced players from rookies to balance the playing field.
Also released to coincide with this launch is the Hearthsteed mount for World of Warcraft. Any players of both games (and there's sure to be a pretty good amount of cross-over) will appreciate the addition. To unlock the mount, you must win three games of Hearthstone in the Play or Arena game modes.
