2017 marks an important event for Square Enix as "Final Fantasy VII" turns 20 and the "Final Fantasy" series itself turns 30. To supplement its celebration, the Japanese game company released a notable number of details about its current and soon to be released "Final Fantasy" titles during their celebration in Tokyo. The information apparently includes the official release dates for the "Final Fantasy XV" DLC expansions.
The first DLC content becomes available on Feb. 21, 2017 and is called the "Booster Pack." Gamespot says the downloadable content provides Noctis and the crew some Magitek Exosuits. When equipped, the suits supposedly render the team invincible from enemy attacks for a period of 30 minutes. Once the ability is used up, players would need to recharge the suits before they can be used again.
Players who are planning to take on the "Final Fantasy XV" new game plus mode might likely find the suits useful. Meanwhile, some gamers suggest waiting for all the character DLC content before playing the RPG's new game plus. It appears reasonable so gamers can experience each of the supporting cast's back stories. Additionally, the content is expected to explain certain gaps in the game's lore.
"Episode Gladiolus" launches on March 28 and will explain what happened to the character after he left Noctis' group for a while. This will be the first time where players can use another party member instead of Noctis. Cor Leonis is also reported to make an appearance in the DLC.
"Episode "Prompto" is reportedly coming in June and as the name implies focuses on the team photo maniac. No other details were added about the Prompto DLC, reports Game Rant. The last one called "Episode Ignis" does not have a release date yet as of the event.
So far, Square Enix has only released one DLC update for "Final Fantasy XV" until now. Its apparent that many players are waiting for more story content due to the supposedly lackluster main story and the oft-mentioned Chapter 13.
