Warner Bros. Interactive has currently announced that the former toys-to-life studio, Avalanche Software has been brought back to life. It shall be working in an upcoming "Cars 3" video game based on Pixar film.
It can be remembered that last May Disney decided to cease the development on its toys-to-life series Disney Infinity which eventually closed down its developer Avalanche Software in the process. Disney would want to focus on IP's licensing and get out of game development.
However, this time around Avalanche will be developing "Cars 3" video game for Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. It has been said that the release would be sometime this year. However specifics platforms weren't revealed yet.

According to IGN, the former Disney executive, John Blackburn will be leading the reformed Avalanche. The said game will also be developed by using the studio's Octane engine technology on which such rights have been acquired by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment's president, David Haddad also welcomed Avalanche Software with pleasure by saying that the said developer's talent and technology is a great addition to their group's outstanding developers. Haddad also said that they are looking forward to working with their new team, namely, Pixar Animation Studios, and DCPI (Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media).
They have been excited for "Cars 3" as well as all their upcoming games that will be created under Blackburn's leadership, Game Informer added. Though there is still no specific date as to its release still many players would get excited as "Cars 3" will not be the only game that will be produced but many future games to come.
What other games would still be released? Let's wait and see. So don't forget to stay tuned only here at GameNGuide for more updates to come.
