Given the massive amount of space Titanfall requires on PC, and the still large file size on Xbox One, you could be forgiven for remaining cautious or worried about the size of a day one patch for the console version of the game. Nobody wants to pop in a newly purchased, highly anticipated title and have to sit there and wait for the game to update.
Fortunately the patch isn't too large, measuring in at 840MB according to those who have copies of the game early. There have been much, much larger day one updates for games in the past, sometimes more than 10GB files.
We're not seeing something that large this time for Xbox One, thankfully, but that doesn't mean there won't be issues on launch day. It won't definitely happen, but I would expect some difficulties downloading the patch when the servers get slammed upon Titanfall's release as everyone tries to download it and play at once.
There could be error messages, which will hopefully be avoided, but I imagine slow download speeds in general would be the main issue. Of course, I could be wrong entirely, which would be the best-case scenario for the game! That said, I would still bet there will be some slow downloads and it might take a while to be able to play your copy. Sorry!
Titanfall is due out on Xbox One and PC March 11, with the Xbox 360 version coming March 25. There is an Xbox One bundle available that includes a copy of Titanfall, which is a good deal if you have not yet picked up the console.
