The popular Pokémon holiday treat is far from over as Niantic gives gamers more reason to love and enjoy the game this New Year. Recent announcement from the game's developer include releasing special gift boxes which will unwrap exciting surprises containing newest Pokémons, increase chance of hatching Togepi, and other inclusions. Furthermore, gamers can now have the chance of catching partner Pokémon and their evolutions.
According to Gamenguide, the holiday offer for the 3 special mystery boxes started on Dec. 25, and will last up to January 3, 2017. Niantic will allow gamers to have greater chance of finding eggs that would hatch Togepi, Pichu, and others, as well as obtaining single-use incubator everyday on the PokeStop photo disc.
Moreover, the boxes comes in 3 tiers, Special, Great, and Ultra, with Special containing 10x Great Balls, 2x Incubators, for 250 coins. The Great Box contains 20x Great Balls, 2x Incense, 4x Incubators for 550 coins. The Ultra Box contains 20x Ultra Balls, 25x Incense, 6x Incubators for 1500 coins.

In celebrating the festive season with Pokémon Go, Niantic will also allow gamers to encounter the first partner Pokémon and their evolutions, which will be available until January 8, 2017, GameSpot reports. Furthermore, the Pokémons and their evolutions which were originally discovered in the Kanto region, include Charmander, Charmeleon, and Charizard, plus Squirtle, Wartortle, and Blastoise.
In increasing the chance to encounter these Pokémons and their evolutions, The Pokémon Go Team has made the lure modules to last for 60 minutes, instead of the original 30 minutes.
