Not a bad day to be a gamer. Not only is South Park: The Stick of Truth out today (which sounds like an impressive game from most accounts), but so too is the latest chapter for Season Two of Telltale's The Walking Dead. But only for select platforms, namely PlayStation 3, PC, and Mac.
The good news is that everyone else won't have to wait too long. The game is set to release on Xbox 360 tomorrow, and iOS gizmos the day after, courtesy of the App Store. If you have yourself a Season Pass, the episode is all yours at no cost, but $5 for everyone else.
"With the premiere of The Walking Dead's second season, players quickly learned the unique challenges of surviving in the zombie apocalypse as our 11 year old heroine thrust back into Robert Kirkman's relentlessly unforgiving world ravaged by the undead," said Dan Connors, Co-Founder and CEO of Telltale Games. "Clem's journey continues as even more problems arise, quickly reminding the player that safety is only temporary, and the bonds of trust may not always be as strong as they seem. This episode also introduces our first true villain for the series, the mysterious 'Carver,' who's bent on tracking down her new group of survivors at all costs."
The Walking Dead is set in the world of Robert Kirkman's award-winning comic book series, and while characters from the series are encountered, the main story focuses on wholly original characters. To date, Telltale's series has sold more than 24 million episodes worldwide, earning numerous Game of the Year awards from a number of outlets.
The newly released episode, A House Divided, continues Clementine's story, picking up with her and her companion (of your choosing) having fled into the woods after walkers attacked her, Nick, and Pete.
A list of trophies / achievements for the episode surfaced yesterday. The usual spoiler warnings apply, but feel free to check out the list here, and the trailer below. If you missed the first season, Telltale recently released a Game of the Year Edition with some nice extras.
