I... I feel so kawaii. I don't know what to do. I feel like – like dancing! Yatta!
Ahem, sorry about that. I don't usually become so kawaii in public; it's just that Sony has announced via the PlayStation Blog that Hatsune Miku: Project Diva f for the Vita has finally arrived in North America. The game will be available starting today on PlayStation Network for $29.99.
If you're not kawaii enough to know what Hatsune Miku: Project Diva f is, it's a rhythm game featuring a character from a popular Japanese music software, Vocaloid. Hatsune Miku's voice is comprised of sound and samples from an actress by the name of Saki Fujita. Users can create vocal singing using the software.
Hatsune Miku has become quite the popular character herself, being featured in video games, bands, and as a meme on Japanese video site Nico Nico. Hatsune Miku: Project Diva f marks the fifth mainline game in the series by SEGA.
Today, the game will be coming to the PlayStation Vita after having been available on PS3 since August of last year. The localized Vita port will feature over 30 songs to dance to and Cross-Buy enabled for DLC purchased for the home console version. Anyone who bought the PS3 version's DLC will automatically unlock it on the Vita, for free.
Hatsune Miku: Project Diva f will also include a video editor mode where players can create their own rhythm game tracks and music videos, which can be shared across platforms.
An Extra Songs Pack will also be available for the game for $9.99. The pack includes several songs:
- Tell Your World (By livetune)
- Tokyo Teddy Bear (By Neru)
- Dream-Eating Monochrome Baku (By Nem)
- Sweet Devil (By Hachioji P)
- Rin-Chan Now! (By Owata P & sezu)
- Senbonzakura (By Kurousa P (White Flame) )
Hatsune Miku: Project Diva f will be available today in North American when the PlayStation Store updates and on March 12 in Europe. I've not played one of these games myself, but seeing as how the next Persona Vita game will be in this style, perhaps I should try this out to prepare.
