Today's a big day for PS3 owners! Not only can you download Tomb Raider for free if you're a PS Plus subscriber but anyone with the system can download HBO GO and start streaming hundreds of tv shows and movies.The app has been available for the Xbox 360 for a long time but now, finally, PS3 owners can find out how incredible it is.
The app is completely free, although you need an HBO subscription to take advantage of it. It's a great deal if you do, though- because HBO GO allows you access to nearly the entire selection of HBO's shows. The big seller for the service right now is "True Detective", the critically acclaimed (and Lovecraft-themed!) detective show which stars Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson as homicide detectives trying to hunt down a serial killer. A new season Game of Thrones is starting up soon, Girls is currently airing, and new seaons of Broadwalk Empire and Vice are on the way. There's just an embarassment of riches that will take you months to get through- "The Sopranos", "The Wire", "Curb Your Enthusiasm", "Veep", "Band of Brothers", "Oz", etc, etc, etc.
Their movie selection is equally ridiculous- they've got everything from "BASEketball" and "Apollo 13" to "A Good Day to Die Hard" and "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey". GO also offers acces to sections contains tons of their acclaimed Documentaries, Comedy specials, Sports specials, and even a "Late Night" channel for all of you happily married folks out there.
Now's the moment where PS4 owners go "Waitaminute, what about me?" You are not forgotten- Sony promises that they're working with HBO to bring it to the system as soon as possible.
Now don't forget that the fourth season of "Game of Thrones" hits this weekend, so you better get started now if you want to catch up on the first three seasons.
