Following the epic Blizzcon in October, fans did not expect more announcements from the studio. It seems that gamers have underestimated Blizzard, as they had just released a "Year in Review" video that hints at so much new contente for "Overwatch," including new characters, modes, and Oasis Map with custom game browser. All of these awesome content are set to arrive in 2017.
The news comes via Gamespot, which reports that "Overwatch" director Jeff Kaplan had a lot to share about the studio's plans for the team-based multiplayer first-person shooter video game. He promised more new heroes for the game, saying that one in particular is already in the art department and is most likely seeing a release in 2017.
New characters aren't the only thing coming to "Overwatch" this 2017, as the studio is already hard at work on a new map called "Oasis," which should arrive in the early parts of 2017. While there's not much details about the "Oasis" map or the other maps they're currently working on, gamers can know this: the maps are for a traditional game mode.
Meanwhile, "Overwatch" may see the arrival of a new mode this 2017. According to VG24/7, there will be a new spectator mode, as well as a custom game browser arriving early in the year. This is expected to be expanded throughout 2017 as well.
Kaplan added that due to "Overwatch" gamers' demand, they have decided to focus on server browser for Custom Games so that it's easier to search and find. An early version should come out in the beginning of 2017. Throughout the year, gamers should also expect several in-game events, including holiday-themed events and other surprise events Blizzard has in store for fans.
"Overwatch" is now playable on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC. Make sure to check back regularly for the latest on Blizzard's "Overwatch."
