By way of VideoGamer and UK gaming retailer GAME, the fourth Arkham game has been revealed! Rocksteady will be returning to the Batman Arkham series with what's described as the “explosive finale” to the series, in Batman: Arkham Knight.
Listed for release on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC later this year, Arkham Knight will see the return of Scarecrow. The GAME product listing for Arkham Knight says the following, “Face some of Batman' [sic] most notorious foes as the Scarecrow returns to unite Gothams [sic] most feared villains”.
"the ultimate threat against the city he is sworn to protect. The Scarecrow returns to unite an impressive roster of super villains, including Penguin, Two-Face and Harley Quinn, to destroy The Dark Knight forever,” says the GAME listing.
Along with the return of Scarecrow, Batman: Arkham Knight is said introduce Rocksteady's version of the Batmobile, which will be drivable. "Rocksteady's uniquely designed version of the Batmobile, which is drivable for the first time in the franchise. The addition of this legendary vehicle, combined with the acclaimed gameplay of the Batman Arkham series, offers gamers the ultimate and complete Batman experience as they tear through the streets and soar across the skyline of the entirety of Gotham City,” the listing reveals.
Rocksteady's return has been called for by fans of the Arkham series that were not too keen on the most recent game, Arkham Origins. A return to the studio that created the Batman Arkham series seems most fitting as a means to conclude this ongoing story in the city of Gotham.
