Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army for Consoles: Mostly Likely Coming to Xbox One, Maybe PS4

The Sniper Elite Spin-off Nazi Zombie Army is Coming to Unannounced Consoles, Likely Xbox One

Following the success of the Sniper Elite V2 spin-off Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army on PC, developer Rebellion has announced the game will make its way to consoles and is currently in development, Eurogamer reports.

While they wouldn't specify which platforms they're developing the game for, Rebellion is part of Microsoft's ID@Xbox program, the initiative to have indie developers publish their games on the Xbox One.

Naturally, you would expect that to mean the game will come out on Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 isn't ruled out either, but they aren't saying right now. "We can't say much yet but it won't just be a re-package of the first two games- there will be plenty of new content to get stuck into," studio boss Jason Kingsley stated.

He continued, "Like many independent developers, we're still learning the ropes and having a lot of conversations with the platform holders. We're not at the stage where we can confirm the platforms right now, but we're fortunate to have experience already from self-publishing on Steam and mobile, so we're confident it'll go smoothly."

The series has sold half a million copies between Steam, retail stores and Rebellion's Gamestore since Nazi Zombie Army's launch on PC exactly one year ago. A sequel, Nazi Zombie Army 2, was released in October.

The first game in the series, Sniper Elite, came out for the original Xbox in 2005. Sniper Elite V2 didn't come out until 2012, and it's currently available on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, and PC. Nazi Zombie Army is so far only on PC- more details of this console version being developed should come out over time.
